Thanks to the efforts of the Palmer Lake Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), students are enjoying a brand new slide on the playground.
The equipment was installed over the winter break, giving the students a wonderful surprise upon returning to school in January.. The slide has already brought new fun and excitement to students at PLES.
The new slide, which cost $27,890, was graciously purchased by the PLES PTO. The majority of the PTO’s funds come from the Annual Palmer Lake July 4th Fun Run. In the past two years, over 1,500 people have registered for this fun, family-friendly event.
The 4th of July Fun Run, which will celebrate its 43rd year in 2025, is a yearly tradition in the Tri-Lakes Area. The race spans four miles, starting at Palmer Lake and running along the Santa Fe trail, before ending in Monument.
