In an unforgettable match at Lewis-Palmer High School on Nov. 9, Head Volleyball Coach Don Lash reached an INCREDIBLE milestone: his 600th career win! Since starting his coaching journey with LPHS in 1985, Coach Lash has built a legacy rooted in humility, dedication and unwavering commitment to his players.
So many people wanted to share their appreciation for Coach Lash and the impact he’s made on their lives.
Alexa Strube, assistant coach, praised Coach Lash, saying, “Coach Lash is the definition of a servant leader—he would never ask for something he wouldn’t do himself. He deeply cares for each player, taking time to get to know and love them. Wins and losses don’t matter to him; he focuses on their ability to be team players and care for one another. Because of his ability to mold, lead, and serve, success has deservedly followed him.”
Bethany Heitland, assistant coach, added, “What sets Coach Lash apart is his ability to take a group of girls and make them into a team that loves and trusts each other. He cares deeply for each player, not just as athletes, but as people. He understands the privilege of influencing his players and takes that responsibility very seriously.”
And for the players, this milestone was truly meaningful. Brooke Gennerman, senior, said, “As a team, going into the match knowing it could be his 600th win, we just wanted to play for him and show how much of a positive impact he has on every player and the sport of volleyball.”
