Lewis-Palmer School District 38 celebrated the 7th Annual Aliorum De Awards in a powerful and moving ceremony at Lewis-Palmer High School on April 24. The nominees included students, staff and community members who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of D38 students with special needs. The ceremony was emotional, with tears and heartfelt speeches highlighting these individuals' profound impact on our community.

The award winners and nominees were praised for their unwavering dedication, empathy and willingness to go the extra mile to support our students. Whether helping students enjoy learning, providing insightful and helpful support, or simply making a child happy, these individuals have impacted the district.

“400 words are not enough to explain how great these people are," said one parent. Indeed, it is challenging to fully capture the extent of their contributions in just a few words. These exceptional individuals have helped D38 students feel accepted, welcomed and loved by all. Their efforts have changed lives, enabling confidence, fostering inclusion, and empowering students with special needs to reach their full potential.

The Aliorum De Awards serve as a reminder of the importance of supporting all students in the district and recognizing those who make a difference in their lives. By fostering inclusion and creating a supportive environment, these individuals are helping to shape the future of D38.

Upon being selected as one of the winners, Carly Scopis, a student at LPHS, shared her thoughts, “I’d like to thank Mr. Evan for the amazing opportunity to work with these kids, and watching them grow is the main reason why I do this. Watching them learn a new skill to make a better choice when talking to others is the best experience. Knowing that making the smallest impact makes the biggest change in their life is the entire reason I do what I do!”

The District team commended all award winners and participants, noting the combined effort makes a difference in the lives of every student, every day.
