Tech Free

Thank you for participating in Tech-Free Tuesday!

Here's what LP students had to say about the challenge:

I got to focus on painting. Also talking with friends

It has let me read more

I talk more at lunch and get more done in class

Great to focus with everyone

I feel more connected with my surroundings when I am observant and not on my phone. I was able to enjoy my friendships and connections more well not on my phone, and encouraging others to the same made us have a close relationship.

Since I did the full day I realized how much time I've wasted on my phone. This lead to me deciding to wear somthing nice to school, wearing jewelry and doing my hair. I even wore the shoes that take slightly longer to tie.

I learned to be in the moment

I barely was going to use my phone anyways

Instead of being on my phone I got to see a high speed chase “true story”

I could listen to more conversations. Also, I could engage in more conversations.

Going phone-free has allowed me to be more in the moment the days that I do go phone-free.

I had some really chill talks with my family and friends, I was also able to get quite a bit of work done.

I talked with friends more during lunch and read my new book

I didn’t consider try check my phone and worry and I got talk more friends

It was cool.

Fun

I have realized that there are many ways to get things done without a phone. Before this I always made excuses about how I can't go tech free because I needed my phone.

I've benefited a lot from participating every week. I've always been distracted in school and have wanted to stay with my phone and this experience gave me an excuse to do it without being seen as "weird". A big takeaway of mine is that we are more reliant on phones than you think, and stepping away from that has a bigger impact than expected.

I think I was more present in my lunch time interactions with my department without my phone.

I felt good today!

I have spent more time with friends.

Over the month of doing tech-free challenges I've learned to become less dependent on my phone. Today I went the entire day without even thinking about my phone. The experience has shown me that sometimes life is easier without technology. Thank you for such an awesome challenge!

We have had so much fun at lunch

Yes, I feel as though I have benefited greatly from this program. A few takeaways from it include better relationships with friends and family.

I talked to my friends more, and I had a conversation with someone I didn’t know

I’ve gotten a gift card.

I could listen to more conversations. Also I could engage in more conversations.

My few take aways from this experience are that I got to be more in the moment
