Lewis-Palmer High School (LPHS) is proud of its long and successful tradition in the athletic arena. The Rangers continue to compete at the highest level statewide by having many post-season and state championship appearances.

None of this can be achieved without our school’s Pillars of Excellence: (C.L.A.S.S.) Character, Leadership, Academic Success, School Involvement, and Service to Community with character as the foundation.

Most recently, our volleyball team has won four out of the last five state championships having come up short in 2015 as state-runner-ups. In 2015 our baseball and women’s soccer teams were defeated in the state title game. A year later, our women’s soccer team went on a campaign of “unfinished business” coming out on top as the 2016 state champions. In 2017, the men’s basketball team went on a 19 game winning streak to cap off the season as state runner-ups. They followed up in 2018 with another state runner-up finish and finally were crowned state champions in 2019. The men’s soccer team just finished in the final four in 2019. We can also proudly claim the LPHS players who played for the 2017 state champion district field hockey team.

LPHS is also proud of the numerous individual state championship qualifiers and placers in wrestling, swimming and dive, gymnastics (district team), tennis, golf, track, and cross-country in which there are many to name. In 2019 both men and women cross country teams qualified for the state tournament. Our wrestlers brought home three state placers with our first-ever freshmen placing 3rd in 2020. Our men's golf team brought home a sophomore 4th place finisher in the state tournament and our track and field team had their 4 by 800 team set a school record and placed 5th at the state tournament.

Our teams on the rise that have also been seen recently in the postseason are our ice hockey (district team) (2010 and 2011 state champions), men’s lacrosse team (district team) (2017 league champions), women’s lacrosse (district team) and football (2016 state quarter-finalists). The softball team is very young and has just completed one of their best seasons since their 2010 final four appearances.

Both of our school spirit teams (cheer and poms) compete at the state tournament, and our cheer team recently brought home a 2nd place finish in 2020.

The Ranger Athletic Program is proud of all its teams and the fine coaches who provide the outstanding character and leadership that has led to such sustained success.
