Gifted and Talented Program
Gifted and talented students are those who show exceptional performance and outstanding abilities, or who demonstrate obvious potential for in-depth advanced academic programs. These students have been identified using a body of assessment evidence.
LPHS is committed to providing an educational program that recognizes the unique abilities and educational needs of GT students and provides appropriate differentiated services and programming to encourage positive connections, character development, high level thinking and creative productivity. GT Programming includes a GT Freshman Advisory, the Mind Works elective course, the Advanced Independent Study elective course, as well as one on one consultation, and post-graduate planning support.
NOTE: Course offerings from the Gifted Ed Program are open to any LPHS student who meets the requirements. Students do not need to be GT identified to enroll.
