A community partnership will help feed hundreds throughout the upcoming holiday season after a team including all Lewis-Palmer School District 38 schools and departments, Monument Academy and St. Peter’s Catholic School collaborated to raise thousands of dollars and pounds of food.
Coordinated by the local Monument Hill Kiwanis club, the effort raised nearly $10,600 in funds and more than 11,300 pounds of food for donation to Tri-Lakes Cares, which works throughout the year to support those in need.
According to fundraising records, $10,600 is the most ever donated in terms of dollars, and over the past 13 years, the program has officially raised more than 200,000 pounds of food and more than $80,000.
