Students at Palmer Lake Elementary School are engaged in music about 50 minutes per week. Classroom music will include students moving, singing, playing instruments, reading music, writing music and dancing. Students will sing and play alone and in groups. They will learn about rhythm, melody, form, texture and timbre of music. In the music classroom, students will use Orff barred instruments, small percussion instruments, recorders, and ukuleles. 

In 6th grade, students have the option to take Beginning Band. No experience on a band instrument is needed to join band. The instrument offerings are flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, trumpet, horn, baritone/euphonium, tuba, or percussion.
