I'm so excited to be teaching at LPES. This will be my 10th year at LPES and my 20th year as a teacher. I was raised in Kansas where I received my BS in Biology from Emporia State University and later my secondary teaching degree from Pittsburg State University. I started teaching K-8 Library and 6-8 Science in Montana where I received my Library endorsement from University of Montana - Western. My next teaching endeavor was in Arizona where I taught Library and Science in the Middle School realm before landing in the beautiful state of Colorado.
My husband and I fell in love with the Monument area and chose to make this community our home. We have 4 boys ranging in age from 24 to 11. Cub Scouts and being a mom taxi keep me busy outside of school. Some of my hobbies include photography, glass crafting, camping, reading (of course) and all things nerdy. I look forward to helping the students explore their latest interest or getting hooked on a new book series or computer program. Making the kids laugh is one of my goals (even if it means wearing a tutu) because I know that when they go home they will be practicing their story telling skills as they retell what happened in Library and Tech land.
